In the first march of a planned series of protest rallies and meetings designed to keep the pressure on our incompetent minority government to abandon the universally despised carbon tax, an estimated 1500 ordinary citizens marched on Sunday 30 July 2011 from Hyde part to the city in a peaceful but determined display of civil protest. Passing cars and buses honked in support and people in the street joined the march, wishing they had known of the protest. The police were satisfied with the conduct of the protest, which was free on incidents.
More and bigger marches will be organised throughout the year to give citizens a chance to remind the Julia Gillard and Bob Brown that Australians ‘are not stupid’ and will not be bullied into a deceitful and pointless tax.

I am in support of election now. There is no reason to bring in a carbon dioxide tax other than labor mismanagement.
Just another thing for them to stuff up. apart from all the extra cost that we know about about like electricty etc. this government thinks they are going to have more of our money to spend but they are so bad at running anything that it will end up costing them (us) even more. The amount of admin, the extra expense of all the government departments have to spend day to day, the compensation, the jobs and Rudd’s pledge to the UN.It will be loosing $$$ before it even starts.
Julia Gillard said “No carbon Tax under the govt I lead.”Does this mean we have a squatter in the lodge? because she sure ain’t leading.

Talk back radio across the country clearly shows the majority of the Australian public want an end to the Gillard Government & all the economic uncertainty they’ve created. Gillard does not have a shred of credibility left. Wayne Swan couldn’t be trusted to sell used cars. Shorten showed his hand on 7.30 Report August 3 with his arrogant remarks directed at the retail sector.
The Greens have far too much influence over this government & have no idea about wealth creation & managing an economy. Introducing a carbon tax at a time in Australia’s history when retailers are reporting disastrous economic conditions is clear evidence that another agenda is at play.
The Gillard Government will destroy the Australian economy with this carbon tax. Talk of Simon Crean or Steven Smith taking over as Labor leader will not restore any faith in this deceitful government. It should have ended when Rudd was knifed in the back by Gillard.
